New visual and interaction design language
A needed refresh
The platform houses large proposals of detailed financial information such as rebates and subsidies for sustainable construction and building.
Builders need to review top line savings and details of each program in order to understand what is applicable to their projects and where they can create the biggest impact. There is a lot of information to digest so the organization and navigation of the platform needed to be clear and concise.
However, the original design didn’t have consistent interaction patterns, UI, or clear user flows which lead to user confusion.
Knocking design down to build it back up
I reworked the information architecture to improve flows, established a regular design grid, redesigned various UI and visual design patterns, and established intuitive interaction patterns to create a clear hierarchy of information and promote faster navigation.
The main experience on the platform was redesigned using the new visual and interaction design patterns in combination with research of sites like Home Depot and Lowes (experiences the main user would be familiar with). The final design situates up to 3 scopes of work side by side with comparing information aligned in a row for easy scanning and comparison.
A more sustainable UX and UI
By creating a consistent, friendlier, and more intuitive visual and interaction design language, each page and the overall platform became more welcoming and easier to navigate.
